Deaton's phone hacked, fake $LAW token announcement
  • Crypto proponent John Deaton falls victim to phone hack.
  • Fraudulent token declaration disseminated through Deaton’s authenticated Twitter handle.
  • Users cautioned against interacting with the referenced website or engaging in $LAW-related endeavors.

In a startling twist, the esteemed crypto proponent John Deaton has fallen victim to a phone hack, resulting in a fraudulent token declaration disseminated through his authenticated Twitter handle. CryptoLawUS, a reputable entity specializing in crypto regulation, verified this occurrence in the early hours of June 4, 2023.

As per a recent tweet by CryptoLawUS, it has been reported that Deaton’s phone was subjected to a persistent cyberattack spanning multiple days. The tweet further highlighted that the message disseminated through Deaton’s account was not authentic and advised users to refrain from taking any action based on it or any other communication originating from the compromised account until further notice.

The tweet that emerged from Deaton’s compromised account was fraudulent. It touted a new token, $LAW, as the official currency of CryptoLawUS, with the promise of revolutionizing tokenization and DeFi through a focus on crypto regulation. However, this was all a sham, and we urge caution and vigilance in the face of such deceitful tactics. As professionals in the crypto industry, we must remain steadfast in our commitment to transparency and integrity and not be swayed by false promises or dubious claims.

Acknowledging that the statement disseminated through Deaton’s compromised account is entirely spurious and unapproved is of utmost importance. We strongly caution users against interacting with the referenced website or engaging in $LAW-related endeavors.

Renowned within the crypto sphere for his unwavering commitment to equitable regulation and tireless representation of XRP stakeholders in the ongoing Ripple legal battle, John Deaton sprang into action with alacrity upon uncovering the breach.

There needs to be more information regarding the steps taken to reclaim ownership of the Twitter account. Furthermore, the deceitful tweet remains visible at the time of this writing.

The recent occurrence serves as a poignant indication of the cybersecurity hazards plaguing the cryptocurrency realm. Both users and industry experts must exercise prudence and vigilance, especially when confronted with unforeseen declarations or invitations to partake in token sales.
