Following the catastrophic earthquake in Morocco, which has left numerous people desperately requiring aid, Binance, the leading global cryptocurrency exchange, is initiating a substantial relief operation.
Binance Charity, the philanthropic division of Binance, has committed to airdropping a maximum of $3 million in BNB (Binance Coin) to Binance users living in the impacted areas. Those users who have completed their Proof of Address (POA) before September 9, 2023, within the impacted region will be granted $100 in Binance Coin (BNB), which was worth $20,957 at the time this article was written.
Furthermore, individuals who complete POA between September 9 and 30, 2023, will be awarded $25 in BNB, valued at $5,239. The allocation of these funds to qualified participants is planned to begin on September 12, 2023.
In line with its user-centric approach, Binance Charity has initiated a public donation address to enable donations from the international community. Any funds collected at this address, whether in BNB, BTC, ETH, USDC, USDT, or BUSD, will be directed to a soon-to-be-announced authorized NGO. The aim is to assist those in need via the Emergency Earthquake Appeal.
As of the moment this was written, Binance’s proprietary digital currency, BNB, had a trading value of $208. It had a 24-hour trading volume of $520 million, indicating a substantial 67% increase within a day.
